Ticketing Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully. You must accept these terms and conditions before you can proceed with your booking. In these terms and conditions “we” means the Old Vic Services Company Ltd (company number 06753149).
Tickets are sold subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. Tickets
- Please check dates and times before completing your booking as mistakes cannot always be rectified
- It is your responsibility to bring your ticket with you in order to gain admission
- We reserve the right to limit the number of tickets that a single buyer can purchase (a “performance limit”)
- In exceptional circumstances the management reserves the right to provide alternative seats to those specified on the ticket
2. Reselling
- Tickets cannot be resold or offered for resale a. at a profit; or b. through non-authorised ticketing agents (including but not limited to secondary selling sites such as StubHub, eBay and Viagogo)
- Tickets resold or offered for resale in breach of condition 1(Reselling) will be cancelled and secondary buyers will not be able to gain entry to the performance. We will assist secondary buyers with any evidence they require to reclaim money from a non-authorised ticketing agent
- We may blacklist buyers who repeatedly resell or offer their tickets for resale through non-authorised ticketing agents; or buyers who resell or offer for resale tickets that exceed any performance limit
3. Exchanges and returns
- Tickets are non-refundable
- They can be exchanged for another date or returned for an Old Vic Credit Voucher up to 48 hours prior to the performance for a £1 fee per ticket. To exchange your ticket or request an Old Vic Credit Voucher, please call the Box Office team on 0344 871 7628 during opening hours. Alternatively you can email box.office@oldvictheatre.com.
- Credit Vouchers will remain valid for 18 months from the date of issue. On expiry, any remaining credit will be treated as a donation to the Old Vic Theatre Trust 2000 and, if we have a valid existing Gift Aid declaration from you, we will claim Gift Aid on that donation. If you would prefer us not to claim Gift Aid, or have any queries about where we allocate the unused credit, please let us know on oldvicclub@oldvictheatre.com.
4. Performances
- In case of a significant rise in the national incidence of COVID infections, we may ask all patrons to arrive at The Old Vic at a specific time stated on their ticket. If you arrive outside of your timed entry we cannot guarantee access to the auditorium
- We reserve the right to make changes to running times, performers and such other matters as we consider to be reasonably necessary
- If the performance is cancelled by The Old Vic, we will automatically credit your Old Vic account with the full amount. This credit will remain on your account for 18 months (per condition 3(Exchanges and Reurns)) or, alternatively, a full refund can be requested. For the avoidance of doubt, The Old Vic will not refund the cost of any other expenses incurred by you in connection with your theatre trip (see condition 1(Liability) below)
- We cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist, which can be subject to illness, injury, availability and circumstances beyond our control. For the avoidance of doubt, we do not offer refunds if an advertised artist is unable to perform
- The use of photographic and recording equipment, or mobile phones (and selfie sticks), are prohibited in the auditorium. Devices must be switched to airplane mode before entering the auditorium
- From time to time, we may photograph or film the performance and/or audience members for marketing or archival purposes. We will notify you where such photography or filming is taking place. You consent to being photographed or filmed as a member of the audience and consent to the resulting materials being used in commercial distribution, publication and Old Vic communications, without payment or assertion of any copyright. If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed, please let a member of the Front of House team know
- Any complaints about a ticketholder’s seating or ability to view a production should be made promptly to the theatre staff either before or during the performance. This issue cannot be rectified once the performance is over
- In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to provide alternative seats to those specified on the ticket
5. Admission
- We reserve the right to refuse admission, terminate a visit or restrict access at short notice and without prior warning. In particular, we ask our visitors to treat our staff, our performers and other visitors with respect and kindness. Anyone who does not uphold this culture will be asked to leave
- Security checks are in place and will include bag searches
- Small bags are permitted in the auditorium or may be left in our cloakroom, subject to availability. Large bags/suitcases are not permitted in the auditorium and cannot be left in the cloakroom
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
- Children under the age of three are not permitted in the auditorium, unless specified in the age guidance
- Smoking is prohibited anywhere on site
- Dogs will not be admitted (except assistance dogs)
- Access tickets are only available to our Access Members. We reserve the right to ask for proof of eligibility at the time of admission
- If you arrive at the theatre later than the start time advertised on your ticket, you may be admitted to the performance during a break deemed suitable by our staff, but we do not guarantee that you will be admitted to the performance
6. Liability
- You make travel, accommodation and hospitality arrangements relating to the performance at your own risk. If a performance is cancelled our liability in respect of such arrangements is limited to the refund set out in condition 3 (Performances)
- We will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage of your personal belongings, other than that caused as a result of our negligence or other breach of statutory duty
7. General
- We are a member of the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR). If you have a complaint which you are unable to resolve with us, please visit the STAR website for advice
- We will process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- We may change these terms and conditions from time to time by amending this page. By continuing to use this website you accept the version of the terms and conditions current at the time of your use. Changes to these terms and conditions will not affect any order from you that we have already accepted. We recommend that you check this page for updates
- We reserve the right to transfer our rights or obligations or sub-contract our obligations under these terms and conditions to another other legal entity provided that such transfer will not adversely affect the standard of the products or the service you receive under these terms and conditions
