Happy New Year from all of us at The Old Vic

In 2022, we staged five productions – from cloning and cab drivers, to American politics at the polls and in the classroom, to closing the year with everyone’s festive favourite A Christmas Carol (playing until 07 Jan). 18,979 people saw a production for £10 thanks to PwC £10 Previews, and we commissioned four new monologues and held five talks on our stage. We’ve also got six productions currently on tour in the UK, America and Australia.

Our Education & Community programmes continue to grow, and this year we worked with 6,584 participants, who took us up on 4,508 free tickets. The Hub, our free online resource for work and learning inspiration, had 28,093 users across 102 countries in just two months.

Work on The Annex has also begun – an exciting new space that’s going to allow us to double the number of education, community and artist development participants we work with each year.

You can now get even more behind-the-scenes content (and an exclusive tour with our Stage Door Manager Ned) on our newly launched TikTok.

We couldn’t have done any of it without you and we’re so grateful for another year with our visitors, audiences, supporters and participants, whether in person or online. We wish you a very happy new year, and hope to welcome you through our doors in 2023, which is already shaping up to be one to remember with Sylvia, Groundhog Day and Mog the Forgetful Cat.
