As a registered charity itself, The Old Vic believes that it is vital to encourage those around us to support others. Since 2017, through bucket collections and online and text donations around A Christmas Carol, our incredible audiences have raised over £700,000 in aid of charities Field Lane, The Felix Project, Coram Beanstalk, FoodCycle and FareShare.
We’re thrilled to announce that the production is hoping to raise funds in aid of another charity in 2022, with the chance for charities to nominate themselves to be the recipient of this year’s festive bucket collection.
The scheme is open to all registered charities, subject to the following criteria:
- Preference will be given to charities working within The Old Vic’s home boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark
- The annual turnover of the charity must not exceed £3 million per year
- The charity’s core function must focus on tackling issues of inner-city deprivation, particularly in relation to limited access to food, water, housing, clothing, education or employment
To apply, send an email of no more than 500 words detailing: a brief history of your charity; its mission; reach/impact; a proposal for how the donation would be used:
- Applications should also include details of how the charity is set up, whether as a charitable company, incorporated charitable organisation (ICO) or something else; please provide details including any Companies House or Charity Commission registration numbers
- Applications should include the subject title A Christmas Carol charitable support 2022 and be emailed to charity@oldvictheatre.com by Fri 12 Aug 2022 and will be shortlisted by The Old Vic against the above criteria
The successful charity will be contacted by Fri 02 Sep and announced in September.
